National Association of Schema Therapists of Ukraine

The purpose of the Association is to support the sustainable development of schema therapy in Ukraine in accordance with internationally recognised professional and ethical standards.Our mission is to promote high-quality psychological and psychotherapeutic care in Ukraine by fostering a professional, ethical, and evidence-based community of schema therapists.Objectives:• to support the development of structured education, training, and continuing professional development in schema therapy in Ukraine• to promote professional standards, ethical practice, and certification pathways for schema therapists• to support Ukrainian professionals in their professional training and advancement• to facilitate international collaboration and integration of Ukrainian schema therapy into the global professional community• to promote the dissemination and implementation of evidence-based psychotherapeutic approachesVision:The Association aims to serve as a professional body that supports education, collaboration, and professional exchange, bringing together schema therapists at different stages of training and professional development.

Structure

Association Sections:

Individual Schema Therapy Section

It focuses on individual schema therapy with adult clients, including the development of clinical formulation, therapeutic interventions, and supervision support.

Child and Adolescent Schema Therapy Section

It brings together professionals working with children and adolescents, as well as with family systems, taking into account developmental, age-related, and trauma-related factors.

Group Schema Therapy Section

It is aimed at the development of competencies in facilitating therapeutic groups, understanding and managing group dynamics, and applying schema therapy in group settings.

Couples Schema Therapy Section

It focuses on work with couple relationships, schemas and modes within the couple, and the restoration of emotional connection and secure attachment.

Membership

Membership in the Association is open to psychologists and psychotherapists who practise or are in training in schema therapy and who adhere to the values of professional ethics and evidence-based practice. Members of the Association gain access to a professional community, educational activities, opportunities for professional exchange, supervision support, and information on training, certification, and international collaboration. Admission to the Association is through a formal application process. Membership decisions are made in accordance with the Association’s Statutes.

Types of Membership
• Associate Member —
a professional who shares the values of the Association and is engaged in professional development in schema therapy but does not yet hold accredited training.
• Full Member —
a professional who has completed accredited training in schema therapy, adheres to the standards of the Association, and actively participates in its activities.
• Honorary Member —
an individual who has made a significant contribution to the development of schema therapy or to the support of the Association’s activities.
